WHAM PARTY IN THE PARK! We provide the TOOLS and the FOOD, you bring some GLOVES and an APPETITE (for destruction of invasive weeds AND eating yummy food).
YES: This year, our WHAM Spring Cleanup will be held in beautiful Skyway Park! We will be partnering with volunteers from Boeing Employees Credit Union under the supervision of Volunteer Coordinator Lina Rose with the goal of revitalizing areas that are overrun with invasive plant species. Weeded areas will be covered until replanting can be done in the Fall.
Participants are asked to be at the Picnic Shelter at 10am for orientation and assignment to work areas. King County Parks will provide all tools, but wear sturdy shoes or boots and bring gloves. We will be doing minimal blackberry removal at this time, since birds are nesting. We will not be doing our usual litter pickup, since there are plenty of weeds to be pulled.
At noon, WHCA will provide a FREE CATERED LUNCH to our hungry WHAM volunteers.
All ages and abilities welcome!
