Skyway Park is located in the West Hill community, an unincorporated urban area on Lake Washington. There are three wetlands in the park that function as the headwaters of Taylor Creek a salmon-bearing stream that passes through Seattle’s Deadhorse Canyon and enters Lake Washington. Skyway Park is 23 acres and has baseball fields an informal football/soccer field a playground basketball and tennis courts.
The site address takes you to a house near the park entrance. Meeting location is near the covered picnic shelter – keep an eye out for the King County Volunteer signs.

After a couple years of pivoting to virtual everything, we finally busted through the screens and celebrated the return of our annual traditions in 2022.

After a long break due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve reactivated our volunteer program – the West Hill Action Mob (WHAM) – and offered not one, but two ways to make a visible difference in the Skyway-West Hill community during July 2021.
Hope for families experiencing homelessness is on its way to unincorporated West Hill’s Lakeridge neighborhood (just north of Skyway, along Lake Washington).
In an effort to get as many youth registered and informed ahead of the 2019 General Election in King County on November 5th, 2019, we partnered with Renton High School students over one week in October to train, inspire, and engage.
About 20 55-gallon bags full of litter and weeds were removed from Renton Avenue South in the Skyway Business District on Saturday, September 21st, thanks to 11 hard-working neighbors (Mary, Cindy, Tina, Miki, Rodney, Mark, Pat, Jadeyn, Curn, Devin, and Jim).
We celebrated Earth Day weekend in Skyway on Saturday, April 20th with some of the coolest neighbors toting litter grabbers, contractor bags and a croissant or two to pair with free double-shot espressos.
The streets of Skyway are much cleaner after our West Hill Action Mob Annual Fall Cleanup thanks to a dozen neighbors who gave up their Saturday morning to tackle litter, drink coffee and make new friends.
On April 17th, 2018, litter and weedy, overgrown planting strips along Renton Avenue South in the Skyway Business District were absolutely no match for our fourteen brave volunteers – not even in the chilly, pouring rain. Continue Reading

Between eating free breakfast and lunch, more than 20 neighbors went out and tamed the sidewalks of Skyway’s business district this weekend. How did we do it? And we experienced the best films both in and outdoors, always with fresh organic popcorn in hand.
