Results of the 2021 WHCA Board of Directors Election

by WHCA Board

One brand new board member and one returning board member will be joining Fin, Basha, Jeannie, Joey, and Devin on the West Hill Community Association Board of Directors! Because there were not enough candidates that would require a vote to narrow down the list, we asked our community if we should confirm the two candidates that were nominated. Here are the results!

Elected to the 2021-2023 Term

Beth Hintz

Returning board member, has already served one full term (2019-2021).

Currently serves as Board Secretary, and on the Executive and Advocacy Committees. Board Liaison to Skyway Coalition.

“I am committed to continuing to contribute my time, skills, and passions to work for racial justice in Skyway and to work for community-led improvements that will meet the needs of people and families in our community, while at the same time fighting for strong anti-displacement strategies and policies that keep our neighborhood diverse and ensure that any improvements and resources will benefit the people who have lived here and owned businesses here for so many years.”

Beth Hintz (from candidate statement)

Daniel Smith

Organized WHCA’s Skyway Outdoor Cinema fourth season in 2006, and undefeated WHCA Holiday Lights Contest champ.

Resident since 2002.

“I see many opportunities in The West Hill and I know one of the contributions I could make happen is to improve the Bus Stops thru-out the area. Some are very difficult to access and others are downright embarrassing. My background in construction and dealing with and negotiating Government contracts and specifications will enable me to work with the appropriate teams to improve this needed service. I look forward to this opportunity and working with the WHCA and other community members to make this and other projects a success.”

Daniel Smith (from candidate statement)

Beth and Daniel will begin their new terms on May 12, 2021, which is the first WHCA monthly board meeting to follow the election.
