Double Exposure: Edward S. Curtis @ Skyway Library | Seattle | Washington | United States

This Seattle Art Museum exhibition, which runs from June 14 to September 9, 2018, presents a comprehensive collection of Edward S. Curtis’s magnificent portraits of Native Americans. Photographed during the turn of the last century, they now have an indelible place in the American consciousness, especially the works from the Pacific Northwest where he started his career. This lecture will explore his life and work, and the key Northwest tribes he portrayed.

Tamara Moats is a Seattle art historian, former curator of education at the UW Henry Art Gallery, and history teacher at the Bush School Upper School.
