Community Coffee Hour Returns with Local Treats and Fraud Fighting Tips

After a pandemic pause, our quarterly Community Coffee Hour event returned to Skyway Library better than before on November 18, 2023.

Inside Skyway Library's meeting room, neighbors gather with a projected slide in the background displaying the Community Coffee Hour logo.

About 20 neighbors found a comfy spot in the Skyway Library to converse with new people, hear some recent community updates, and enjoy a light breakfast.

Breakfast options highlighted some local establishments, including fresh coffee from Winnie’s Cafe & Deli and donuts from Moon Village Bakery. Learn more about our local businesses and watch videos featuring both on the Support Local page.

Our featured speaker for the morning was King County Sheriff’s Office Community Service Officer Vickie Cariello. Vickie shared a presentation on fraud prevention, which is a major issue impacting our neighbors – many who have lost life savings without any recourse.

Thank you so much for joining us, and we hope to see you at the next quarterly Community Coffee Hour on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. back at Skyway Library!

Like having a more engaged, informed and vibrant community? You can make a huge impact by joining your neighbors in giving $5 or more a month to the leanest, hardest working all-volunteer nonprofit in the neighborhood.
